Unknown (exhibition)

Exhibition Q1 2018 in Galleri Bykilde Kælder

A range of artist were invited by the gallery to finish a series of sketches and unfinished paintings, left discarded in the attic above the gallery for decades.

Naja Scheel and Thomas Felumb chose a canvas with a sketch of a middle aged looking fellow, cut him from his canvas and made him into a box. The other three sides were printed variations of the original painting. Inside the box was a fifth piece of art. Only accessible by looking through holes in the outer four artworks.

The box of the unknown man. Looking through one of the four sides reveals his inner workings: a lighted piece of art consisting of painted branches and drawing in white pen on black paint.
